Goals of the event
- promotion of sport and healthy living, especially with school children, by massive participation of those categories in the race;
- increasing the number of participants aged 18 to 70 years old, especially women and the goal is to have at least 500 participants in those categories.
- enabling athletes from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republic of Srpska to participate in a competition of highest international ranking and making it possible for those athletes to, through cooperation with other organizers, participate in other big international events;
- bringing more elite athletes to participate in the Race through quality organization and adequate prize funds in order to improve the status of event and promotion of athletics and sports;
- promotion of tolerance in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the world;
- promotion of volunteering;
- affirmation, through membership in international athletics federations, of Brčko city, Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina with all of their potentials;
- nurturing and deepening of partnership relations with other race and marathon organizers in the world, exchange of presentations and developing contacts with cultural and economic subjects from 200 cities in the world with whom we have direct cooperation through AIMS program;
- enabling Athletic Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Athletic Federation of Republic of Srpska to acquire international reputation by being involved in this project and by doing that, earning the right and possibility to organize other important international events.
- helping other organizers of similar sporting events in Republic of Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region with experience and expertise (especially at international athletic forums where Vidovdan Road Race has a very good reputation)
- creating a positive image in the world about Bosnia and Herzegovina potentials
- fulfilling all conditions for IAAF mark of quality and fulfilling the highest standards of safety and quality on our way to EAA
